Hi, we are Maurits & Samira, a professional travel photographer and researcher with a shared passion: traveling! In early 2022, we founded How We Travelled as an online travel magazine, where we aim to inspire and inform people with our travel stories, hidden gems, accommodations, restaurants, travel routes, travel photography tips and more.
We enjoy searching for places that are not yet well known to the general public. But of course, we also visit places that have been on everyone's bucket list for some time, for good reason. We also share tips on how to discover those places in a responsible and authentic way.

We did not start out as photography enthusiasts when we first started travelling, but over the years it has become our shared passion.
Photography has taught us to look at the world in a different way. Noticing people, nature, animals, details and events that we had previously simply passed by, without seeing them properly.
Over the years the photos we made along our travels, have become almost synonymous with the memories we have of certain places. Here we want to share some of those memories with you in our travel journal.
